Deleting an SMTP domain or user

You can delete a sending domain or an SMTP user from the Domains tab of your account. This article explains how to proceed and what you need to know before deleting.

What it's used for

Before you begin

⚠️ These actions are irreversible.

  • A deleted domain cannot be reactivated. If you recreate it, new CNAME records will be assigned and you will need to reconfigure your DNS.
  • A deleted SMTP user cannot be reactivated. You will need to create a new one and update the configuration in all your applications.

Deleting a domain

  1. Log in to your Cyberimpact account and access the SMTP section via the main navigation menu.
  2. Click the Domains tab.
  3. Locate the domain to delete and click icone to the right of its name.
  4. Select Delete from the action menu.
  5. Confirm the deletion in the confirmation window.

Note: deleting a domain automatically disables all SMTP users linked to it. Your mailings via this domain will be blocked immediately. The activity history associated with this domain is retained.

Deleting an SMTP user

  1. Log in to your Cyberimpact account and access the SMTP section via the main navigation menu.
  2. Click the Domains tab and open the page of the domain associated with the relevant SMTP user.
  3. Locate the SMTP user in the Users section and click icone to the right of their name.
  4. Select Delete from the action menu.
  5. Confirm the deletion in the confirmation window. This user's credentials stop working immediately.

Note: if you simply want to temporarily block access without permanently deleting the user, consider resetting the password instead — the old password will stop working without deleting the user.

You will need to create a new one from the relevant domain's page. The new user will have a different username and password — remember to update the configuration in all your applications.
