How to choose the right subscription form?

You can create different types of forms:

  • Hosted
  • Iframe
  • Html code

Each type has pros and cons. Some are easier to use, others allow more customizability for someone who has technical knowledge.

* You can also create a custom form through our API or Zapier, but these methods are complex and require a developer.

Answering these questions will help you decide which form is right for you:

Hosted forms

  • Do you need an easy-to-share link (url) for social media?
  • Are you looking for the simplest solution that requires little or no technical knowledge?
  • Do you want a form that sits on its own page that you don’t have to build yourself?

If so, the hosted form is the best choice. It’s quick to set up, easily customized, and it can stand alone. In addition, the url generated can be used or shared several different ways.

Iframe forms

  • Do you want to add your form to a section of your website (e.g. in the footer or as the main content of a subscription page)?
  • Your technical knowledge is limited, but you have access to the HTML code of your website?

The iframe form may be right for you. It's as easy to build as the hosted form. You'll get a snippet of HTML code to insert directly into your website’s code, wherever you choose to do so.

HTML forms

  • Do you want to add your form to a section of your website (e.g. in the footer or as the main content of a subscription page)?
  • Do you want more customizable options?
  • Are you comfortable with HTML and CSS, or can you count on the help of a developer?
  • Did you try the hosted or iframe forms and feel that they’re not customizable enough for your needs?

The HTML form is more flexible: you can adjust the HTML code, move or add elements, use your own style sheets and javascript code to create interactions. However, you will need to be comfortable with the technology and keep the tags that are essential to the subscription function!

API

  • Do you need the form to perform several different actions or very specific actions?
  • Do you need to connect it to another system?
  • Are you very comfortable with programming or can you count on the help of an experienced developer?

The API allows you to customize the entire process, from start to finish. Using it requires advanced programming knowledge.
